Summary
The Juneteenth celebration and family reunion picnic for health, justice, peace, and voter registration is a family friendly gathering to promote unity and empowerment throughout the city of Birmingham.
Zones
The event will feature four main Zones:
Zone 1 - 360 Family Party Circle
• DJ
• Giveaways
• Family Feud
Zone 2 - Exchange App Empowerment Pavilion
• Voter registration
• V94.9 FM
Zone 3 - Levi’s Grace Health and Wellness Plaza
• Live fitness instruction
• Health literature handouts
• Mist cooling station
Zone 4 - Food Truck Boulevard
• Local community food trucks will participate in the celebration
Schedule
Schedule of events: The gates will open at 4 p.m., and the welcome will be at 4:15 p.m. by Pastor Mike McClure of The Rock church.
4:20 p.m. - announcement of the DJ
4:22 - 4:25 p.m. - first giveaway followed by Black History questions
4:30 - 6:30 p.m. - food, fun and fellowship
6:40 - 7:00 p.m. Beginning of the program including a moment of silence.
*The Alabama Rally Against Injustice will lead a moment of silence for those known and unknown who have lost their lives at the hands of police brutality*
We expect everyone to exit the park promptly at 7 p.m.
Notes
• Community policing done by two off duty Birmingham police officers.
• Small business empowerment through low dollar sponsorship opportunities.
• 200 health bags will be given away in those bags we will include: masks, hand sanitizer, t-shirts, family reunion style t-shirt and other paraphernalia.
