Description
Join the Birmingham Zoo for Winter Wake-Up: A Hibernation Celebration on Groundhog Day from 9:00am until 2:00pm! Due to the Zoo’s resident groundhog Birmingham Bill going through hibernation, one of the Zoo’s Ambassador owls will be predicting this year’s weather outcome! Guests will be treated to the first Wildlife Show of the year featuring some of your favorite Ambassador animals at the Zoo’s UAB Callahan Eye Hospital Wildlife Stage. Learn about Groundhog Day traditions from all over the world and find out if we’ll have six more weeks of winter!
Guests can also interact with various Education Stations and listen to Keeper Chats throughout the Zoo to learn about the different animals that hibernate! Our weather prediction will start at 10:00am and Keeper Chats will be held until 2:00pm. *Winter Wake-Up is a rain or shine event and festivities are included with the purchase of Zoo admission for the day.
