On December 1st, 2020 at 5pm the annual Christmas Tree Lighting event will officially kick off the holiday season in Hoover, Alabama. One of the Hoover City Schools' choir will be performing and the Christmas tree will be lit by a student during the ceremony. Santa is also going to make a grand entrance on a fire truck, and will take pictures with all of the children. There will also be light refreshments available. The event will be held at the Hoover City Hall - Main Parking Lot. Also there will be free public parking at the Hoover Public Library for this free event.
