NestFresh Eggs Community Giveaway! Macaroni Kid Loves Certified Humane

Enter to Win a Dozen FREE Eggs!

By Jess Searcy September 11, 2020

The humane treatment of egg-laying chickens has always been important to me. Even when I was a kid, I remember pestering my mom about where the eggs we bought came from, because I was worried about the chickens. Nowadays it is a lot easier to tell which egg brands are safe to buy. NestFresh Eggs are Certified Humane, Free-Range, Non-GMO and come from a network of family-owned farms that share NestFresh's commitment to animal welfare and stewardship of the land, so you can feel good about buying them!

You may already know that we like NestFresh Eggs, if you saw the article we wrote about them last December and used them to make homemade eggnog and sugar cookies! Check out that article (with recipes) HERE. So you can guess how excited we were to get 500+ coupons for a FREE dozen NestFresh Eggs to give away in the community! With food insecurity on the rise, due to the pandemic, we were thankful to have this opportunity to ease the burden for families just a little bit. Thank You NestFresh!

We left coupons at the Publix at Trace Crossings in Hoover (right in the egg section), and at the Publix in Calera. We also mailed coupons to three different non-profit organizations in the area. Contact the Saturday pop-up market for GASP, or the food banks at Grace Klein Community and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Birmingham, if your family, or a family you know, would like to try NestFresh Eggs for FREE!

We found NestFresh Egg products at select Publix and Target stores in our region. To check if your local store sells NestFresh products, you can search the store's website or you can visit the "Where to Buy" page on NestFresh's website.

When I get back from the store with our NestFresh Eggs, we use them for so many things... big weekend breakfasts, quick weekday breakfasts and in our favorite recipes, like making chocolate chip cookies!

Cooking and Baking with Kids and Teaching Them to Become Responsible Consumers

Here's an idea for you! With kids at home way more often due to virtual and hybrid schooling, why not spend some time teaching them how to make their own scrambled eggs or pancakes? Or spend an afternoon baking cookies? Cooking and baking with kids is an AMAZING way to practice real-life, everyday math, reading and life skills. Plus, it will instill your kids with confidence in the kitchen and take some of the snack and meal burden from you! My two guys love cooking and baking for themselves and even take pride in making meals for me!

And while you are teaching your kids how to make scrambled eggs, tell them why it's important to you that the hens laying the eggs are treated humanely and how they can become responsible consumers by looking for special labels like "certified humane," when they shop.

Macaroni Kid South Birmingham is happy to partner with NestFresh Eggs to give away a dozen free eggs to 100 (one hundred) lucky winners! Click here to enter the giveaway!
