Happy St. Patrick's Day Weekend!

A Note From Your Publisher

By Jess Searcy March 10, 2020

Did you hear about the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland being canceled? When I heard about it, it made me "whoa." I mean, it's getting for real right? I'm wondering if the Birmingham area will escape the cancellation of large festivals and fairs this Spring, or if our politicians will leave the decisions to go (or not go) up to us. Which do you think is better? I guess now would probably be a good time to remind you to click those "for more information" links on the calendar listings, so that you can get updates on events from the original sources. I am not able to keep track of so many events. So always a good idea to "know before you go!" Anyway, go away coronavirus, you are not welcome! I am crossing my fingers that warmer weather will indeed suppress it like some experts are hoping.

On a lighter note, we had some fun with my sewing machine this week. The guys have been asking to learn how to use it for a while and since I'm on a "how can we reduce our waste?" kick, I thought it would be fun to teach them how to use it while making some cloth napkins. They did such an amazing job that now they are planning a little business venture! I love how many school subjects got wrapped up in our making... math, creativity, life skills, environmental science, entrepreneurship and more! Woo hoo! Homeschooling/parenting win!

Hope you have a great St. Patrick's Day Weekend! Don't forget to wash your hands... LOTS!
