Illustrating America and Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest

The new Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Alabaster has announced two art contests for students in grades K through 8th and 9th through 12th. The deadline for both contests is March 31st, 2020. The VFW Auxiliary exists to serve veterans, active-duty military, their families and the community. The VFW Auxiliary in Alabaster meets the 1st Saturday of each month at 9:00 am in Restore Alabaster at 128 Market Center Drive, Alabaster, AL 35007. Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest (Grades 9th - 12th)

Each year, more than 4,000 high school students from across the country participate in the VFW Auxiliary’s Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest. The contest began in 1979 to recognize up-and-coming artists and encourage patriotism in youth. The first-place winner from each state competes for national awards totaling $31,000.
